Some outdoor fun!

We had a spell of warm weather and snow, so we took the kids outside. Slater loves to flop and crawl around and Jade was very happy to be packed around. After some rosie cheeks it was indoors for Hot Chocolate and hanging by the fire.

A week to be thankful

Thankful for good friends and family. Thankful to be loving these two a little more each day.

Exer-saucer

Jade is now big enough to hang out in the exer-saucer. Slater wanders around it pressing all the buttons and talking to her. Today the neighbor came by to visit with her two year old and 10 month old. The little one was standing on the outside of the saucer playing and Slater came running,"Sister's, sister's" and then tried to take it away from the other baby. Not so nice for the other little girl, but I thought it was sweet that his big brother protective instinct is kicking in already.

Lashes

I love my son's big brown eyes (like his dad's), but I love his lashes too. This little hat was made for Jade by a friend of my mom's, but it fits Slater so well he is wearing it for now. We had to get out this weekend since it is suppose to hit 50 below by Tuesday. Ugh... stuck in the house for awhile.

For Grandpa Ray and Dana

This little vest was a hand-me-down from a good friend whose husband is an aviator. Slater wore it too, but I can't seem to find any pictures of him in it and wanted to make sure that Jade had at least a couple. She looks like such a big girl sitting up in the armchair, to bad the flash always seems to give her that startled look!

A little more Halloween

This is Slater in his Curious George costume that Grandma made him. It was made out of this wonderful fuzzy material and doubled as a snowsuit for trick-or-treating in Alaska. At first he didn't really understand what we were doing and didn't want to go to the doors, but after he saw the candy he was much more willing. We never did get him to say trick-or-treat, but he would hold the bag out and say "Candy?" and at two everyone thought that was pretty cute and he got plenty of candy!!
These last two are "punkin" carving at our house. Jade and Slater both liked being allowed on the table for the event. Slater was interested in three things: #1 the knife #2 the Sharpie marker and #3 the messy inside of the pumpkin. Little boys...

A girl and her pumpkin...

I am happy that at least one of my children wants to dress-up for Halloween. The leggings on this costume are great (another item I would buy in an adult size). Our little ladybug was hanging out in Grandma Peggy's chair and happy as can be. Wish the delay on our camera wasn't so bad, I would love to show-off her smile. Hopefully Slater will be more cooperative on Halloween when there is candy involved.
This pumpkin came from Fred Meyers, there are no pumpkin patches to buy from in Fairbanks. Jade liked touching it and was happy sitting in the chair with it. Again, Slater refused to cooperated with the picture taking and actually attempted to leave with the large pumpkin (I had to bribe him with a smaller pumpkin to get the rest with Jade).
