Friendly neighbors

Apparently you don't have to live on Sesame Street to have friendly neighbors. The quilt in the background was made by a neighbor from down the street and the little outfit was given to Jade by the people who sold us our land. She is too cute, I wish I could go to the store and grab an outfit (shirt, vest, pants and socks) that were all on one hanger and ready to wear.

Butterfly kisses

Today was a beautiful August day, 70 degrees with blue skies! We spent some time out playing in the yard and then came in to make lunch. Jade was hanging out on the "butterfly" when Slater decided to join her. In one shot he is giving her "kisses" and in the other he is telling her about all the animals on her sleeper. She is really paying attention to the world around her now and big brother is starting to get more and more interested in her. They were so sweet together!

Summer vs Winter

I put these panoramic photos together from about 5 photos. It was fun to do. Some of you may recognize the area. I wanted to do a winter and summer version, pretty cool to see the summer/ winter difference. I could not find the exact same spot but got pretty close. Plus taking my co-pilot along is always fun.

One month!!

Jade has been in the world for a month now. She is awake for short periods of time and talks with us (makes sounds that aren't crying). Slater has learned to give her kisses and rarely squishes her anymore. We have received many beautiful outfits for her and are working on embracing pink!

2 years old already

Time does fly!! Slater had his second birthday party, got lots of toys, and ate lots of junk. He knows how to blow out candles and did the honors himself. He is official TWO now and doing great. Although we often hear the phrase, "Mine, Mine!" he was pretty good with most of his guests and all the new toys. We love you little man!

Chatting with Dad

Slater loves to pick up the phone and pretend to talk - "ello, ello?". But today he had a real conversation with his Dad. Wade called on his lunch break and Slater sat listening to him talk then said "Daddy, ello," then "Miss you" and then "Daddy work" and handed me the phone. It was so sweet and sad at the same time. We all had so much fun together this summer and the little man is missing his Dad.

Two weeks old now!!

Jade is doing well! She is starting to pick up her head and look around. Her belly button is all healed up and her brother has not smothered her with any hugs lately. She is suffering from second-child syndrome (or we are, since we don't seem to get the camera out as often).

100% Boy

Made a trip to visit Grandma and Grandpa this week in Cantwell. It was great to get out of the smoke and be able to enjoy the outdoors. Slater explored the neighbors Cat, the trains with Grandpa, went four-wheeling with Dad and blueberry picking with Mom and Grandma.

He loves anything with an engine and has been to cooped up with all the smoke in Fairbanks. We could barely get him to come inside. We borrowed a friends camper and Wade and Slater "camped" out each night. It was hard to get him to sleep, he was having too much fun.
