Summer Fun

With summer in full swing we are getting outdoors and keeping busy. Slater loves to haul wood with Mom and Dad. He works on all parts of the operation, going out into the woods, unloading the truck, and hauling away the scrapes. Riding the 4-wheeler is his favorite.

There is also a new slide for the front yard, but Slater seems to like the box it came in as much as he likes the slide. He calls it his "fort" and spends at least an hour everyday taking things in and out of it.

Motorcross in the pool. After putting the little dump truck in he decided that his bigger vehicles should also make the trip.

The last shot is splashing around at Chena Lakes with Dad. Next time Dad is taking his swim trunks and will probably be splashing with him.

Summer in Fairbanks

Summer in Fairbanks is busy and hot. The first two sets of pictures are of Slater hanging out with his buddy Jessica, they did fingerpainting at our house one day and then painted tepee's at Jessica's house the next day.

We went to a pig roast last weekend and Slater helped to make the Pig Cupcakes, well he mostly eat marshmallows.

The last slide is from Chena Lakes. We have been going out once a week in the morning with friends and enjoying the water. Slater gave us a scare the first day by running and falling into the deeper water. I fished him out really quick, but it must have been a good laugh for everyone to see a rather pregnant lady and a toddler both soaked to the bone (I can laugh now). Since then he has been a little more cautious and I have been grateful. Wade and Slater went out in a kayak, but I didn't get any pictures.

Tepee Joy

Grandma made me a cool tepee and we have it set up in the living room on rainy days. We had a painting party at my friend Jessica's and mostly painted each other but a little got on the tepee's too.

A trip to Anchorage

In late April Wade attended a conference in Anchorage for a program at school, since the conference was all day Friday, Robyn and I took time off and flew down on Thursday for a long weekend with friends and family. We attended a birthday party for Hannah Yi at Bouncing Bears. It was a blast, we all had fun the slides were really cool, Slater was fearless on them and we took home an exhausted boy. We stayed with our friends Laura and Erik, visited the Anderson's and explored the zoo with 8 kids and 7 adults, quite the troop. It was a good trip, Slater thought the plane flights were fun, especially all the activity outside.

Deprived?

So some have said that since Slater has arrived that we neglect our other children....They would be the first to agree, but I decided to show that they are not forgotten. They are just in less photos!

Easter in Cantwell

We spent Easter weekend in Cantwell. Colored eggs, went to a BBQ, and for a snowmachine ride. A good weekend all around. Slater really enjoyed getting outside in the warmer weather. We had to drag him in, e would be wet and cold but did not want to come in.

Spring Break 2009

We spent part of Spring Break in Cantwell visiting Grandma and Uncle Dan. We spent two days getting the house Slaterized, but one of us was on full watch all the time. To much stuff to get into. On our return to Fairbanks we went to the ice park, cleaned house and just relaxed.
The Ice Park was so much fun! He had to go on every slide, and if he was to slow his butt would freeze to the ice and we would have to rescue him. He is definitely all boy, anything with an engine draws his attention.
