Slater may have enjoyed riding on the sled attached to the snowmachine as much as he enjoyed the mushing.

This makes it look like Jade needed assistance, but she went out without any help. Her dog decided not to run on the way back so the "junior mushers" came to her rescue.  If they had let her run the whole distance (like the big kids) I think she would have done just fine.  But I am grateful for all the care that was taken and the opportunity to try such awesome things at such a young age.

For some reason it is not letting us upload the video footage of both of them mushing.  About 20-25 kids between the ages of 2.5 and 10 took trips down the airstrip behind one or two dogs.  The two smallest were Jade and Sidney (they share a birthday), and 3 year old that all just took a 100 yard run down the strip, were stopped and turned around.
