For my children, everyday let me remember...

Thank you for this child
That I call mine,
Not my possession
But my sacred charge.
Teach me patience and humility
So that the best I know
May flow into it's being.
Let me always remember -
Mother love is my natural instinct
But my child's love
Must ever be deserved and earned;
That for love, I must give love,
That for understanding, I must give understanding,
That for respect, I must give respect;
That as I was the giver of life,
So must I be the giver always,
With no planned returns.
Help me to share my child with life
And not to clutch at it for my own sake.
Give me courage to do my share
To make this world a better place
For all children, and my own.

Some Sunshine

My beautiful baby! Couldn't get a smile out of her at the playground, but it is one of the first chances to take a picture in natural light! Tried for one of Slater, but with balancing the baby, the camera and his leaping around, it didn't happen. Here's to more days of sunshine and playground time!

Sunny Day

Spring may not be here yet but it is on the way! The days are getting longer and temperatures are climbing. Slater loves to be outside so we suite him up whenever the temp allows. his favorite activities include sledding, snowmachining, chasing the dog, rolling in the snow and being chased by dad! I think he would stay outside all day if we let him.

I am Picasso!

We are sure that his artistic talents will take him far, he might even be a genius! Well if the Sistine Chapel needed to be touched up he won't be afraid of heights anyway. I think that the second picture shows his work quite well.

Last week we had some -30 (yes 30 degrees below zero) weather and we decided to do arts and crafts during the sweet babies nap. About half way through the project the baby woke up and the boy was left at the table with 4 open containers of fingerpaint... silly mom! He enjoyed his freedom and then launched himself (hands first) into the rest of the house. This earned him an early bath and some TV time. We have been working on him cleaning up after himself, but in this case that seemed like it might be counterproductive.

My bib says it all...

Crazy Curls

Every time we get his hair cut I am afraid that these will disappear.

The puffer fish face is pretty adorable too.

Tasty Toes

Yes, those are her toes in her mouth! Goofy little girl is quite flexible! During a diaper change this morning she just reached down and grabbed them.
